Gas Kiln Repair Cement

The kiln repair cement comes as a putty/ paste and is used to repair cracks or chips in the kiln’s refractory surfaces such as bricks, walls, or the lid. It is a high-temperature adhesive that require heat to cure.

Application: Use on visible damage on the kiln’s structure. The cement fills in the cracks or broken areas and hardens to restore the integrity of the kiln.

Use a small spatula to apply the kiln cement to the damaged area, press the cement into any cracks or chips completely.

Allow the cement to air dry (24 hours). Avoid firing the kiln until the cement is completely dry. If moisture is still present when the kiln is fired, it can cause the cement to bubble and potentially crack.

For larger cracks, you may need to apply multiple layers of cement, allowing each one to dry before adding the next.

Once the cement is dry, you may need to slowly fire the kiln to cure the cement fully. This usually involves slowly heating the kiln to a low temperature (~90°C) to bake the cement and strengthen the repair.
